Cranberry beverages

When I saw this link, 'A Lavish Feast of Cranberries' on Vegparadise.com, my hands were itching to do something with the bag of cranberries I had. I started making the Tangy Cranberry Syrup, but after I added the cranberries to boiling water, I changed my mind and thought it would be way cool to make my own cranberry soda (because I loved Julie Hasson's Blackberry Soda I made here). If I remember correctly, I used 1 or 1,5 cup of cranberries, 3 cups of water, a quarter cup of sugar and some agave syrup and a little bit of fresh lemon juice. I pressed it through a sieve. Next time I'll use a little bit less water, because now I drank half soda-mixture/half water.

I absolutely LOVE the color. It's so vibrant and Christmassy. (And it tasted great. In fact, I have to go make me some more this afternoon, because this batch is already long gone...)

I also made the Spiced Cranberry Nog. Now, I have never drunk Eggnog in my life, so I have no idea what that tastes like and can't say if this is anything like it (or even if it tastes like Eggnog with a cranberry twist), but I really liked this Spiced Cranberry Nog.

I also would like to try making cranberry juice. Preferably raw, so does anyone know if I can just juice cranberries to get cranberry juice? I popped them in smoothies before (frozen ones, they're like little round, red ice cubes ~ definitely going to use 'cranberry ice cubes for Christmas this year!), so I know you can eat them raw...

I googled 'cranberry juice recipe' by the way, and one of the results was this. O, really, that's how you make it?! Well, brilliant. Can't understand why I hadn't thought of that...

I am now officially having a nog craving.
I'm not sure about juicing cranberries, but I don't see why it wouldn't work...

Mmm, I need to switch from pumpkin to cranberry. It's just about that time. ;)

That cranberry drink looks so pretty!

And, BTW, you can definitely "juice" cranberries to get cranberry juice. Sometimes I juice a few to add to the O.J. that I make. It's really good!

Just keep in mind that they can be pretty strong on their own...

Wow, those beverages look beautiful! Thank you so much for posting this. I've been looking for cranberry recipes to have on hand so when I buy a bunch of cranberries none of them will have to go to waste!

So glad I just found your blog. :)

Thanks! I'm in a cooking lull right now ( terrible, I KNOW) but when I get back into the vegan baking world I will definitely try it!
